The Complex Needs Service is part of the Thames Valley Initiative – providing treatment for people with complex and longstanding emotional and interpersonal problems, most of whom will suffer from personality disorder.
Patients who live on the borders between Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire can receive treatment in either county.
Complex Needs Service is a specialist day programme and community service for people with complex emotional or mental health difficulties.
The service provides community based options and getting ready groups (to prepare patients for therapy) and medium intensity therapeutic community (TC) treatment groups in Adderbury, High Wycombe and Witney. It also runs a high intensity TC treatment programme two or three days a week in Aylesbury and Oxford, and low intensity groups in Aylesbury, Banbury and Oxford. There is also a support group for family and friends in Oxford.
Who is the service for
Adults of working age who have complex emotional and mental health problems.
How to be referred
This service accepts referrals directly from potential service users. You will need to contact the service.
We also accept professional referrals from GPs, mental health services, partner agencies the voluntary sector and other statutory services, and prefer that the patient is also encouraged them to refer themselves.
We try to ensure that everyone can easily access the service by providing care tailored to each individual that takes account of a number of factors including expectations, gender, disabilities and ethnic background.
