Contraception and Sexual Health Service, Oxfordshire

The Oxfordshire Contraception and Sexual Health (c&sh) service is provided from eight clinics across Oxfordshire.  The main clinic, the Alec Turnbull Centre (ATC), is located in Cowley, Oxford, with seven satellite clinics located in Abingdon, Banbury, Bicester, Didcot, Kidlington, Wantage and Witney.

The Oxfordshire c&sh service sees around 15,000 patients at its main clinic and offers services such as contraceptive advice, contraceptive supplies and advice around sensitive issues such as pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. The consultations are strictly confidential and you do not have to be referred by a doctor or nurse.

C&sh offers a friendly and convenient service:

  • People are seen on a “drop in” basis.
  • Advice is easily obtained over the telephone.
  • Convenient evening clinics are available.
  • Specialist nurses, as well as doctors, are on hand to give advice.
  • Consultations are strictly confidential.
  • The service emphasises health-promotion.

  • Advice on infections and tests.
  • Cervical smear tests.
  • Health advice for getting pregnant.
