Artscape Gallery
Artscape has a gallery at the Warneford Hospital and displays exhibitions throughout the year. The gallery mainly shows work created during the projects that Artscape runs but service users, staff and partners of Oxford Health can also display work. If you would like to have an exhibition at the hospital please contact the Artscape project manager.
Commissions
Artscape has been commissioned to create artwork for locations around the Trust. Recently Artscape worked with a group of service users to create pictures to be displayed in the trust HQ (pictured, right).
Working with artist Anne-Marie Cadman and photographer John Unmey, a group of service users and carers, explored the theme of ‘My Oxford’ and what Oxford meant to them. The result of the ten-week project was a dozen new pieces of art work which were unveiled by the then trust secretary Justinian Habner, chairman Martin Howell and chair of Oxford Health Charity Anne Grocock.
The commissioned pieces were made possible thanks to funding from Oxford Health Charity, whose focus is to support projects across the trust that benefit service users and patients in making their lives better. Tom Cox said: “Allowing service users to develop their skills and get the benefit of working on a therapeutic project is absolutely excellent.”
