About the awards

What are the Bee Awards?

The BEE Awards have been set up to acknowledge and reward the excellent work of our Allied Health Professionals (AHP’s) and Social workers within Oxford Health.

We have the DAISY awards for our nursing colleagues and the Bee Awards are a perfect companion to celebrate our AHP and Social Work colleagues. We want to recognise staff who have gone above and beyond and have a positive attitude and support individuals to meet their goals. If you have received excellent care and treatment from one of our Allied Health professionals or social workers then this is your opportunity to say thank you.

Make a nomination

If you would like to nominate and thank a member of staff then please let us know how and why they have provided excellent care and supported your recovery.

AHPs and Social Workers work throughout Mental Health and Community Services within Oxford Health. You may have been cared for by one of the following professions:

Art Therapy

Art therapists use art as a form of psychotherapy to encourage clients to explore a variety of issues including emotional, behavioural or mental health problems, learning or physical disabilities, life-limiting conditions, neurological conditions or physical illnesses.

Dieticians

Dietitians provide specialist advice and support for adults and children: assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of dietary and nutrition related conditions.

Music Therapy

Music therapists engage clients in live musical interaction so as to promote an individual’s emotional wellbeing and improve their communication skills. They help to develop and facilitate communication skills, improve self-confidence and independence, enhance self-awareness and awareness of others, and improve concentration and attention skills.

Occupational Therapists (OTs)

OTs support people with a range of interventions to enable them to return to or optimise participation in all the things that people do; for example, caring for themselves and others, working, learning, playing and interacting with others. OTs positively impact upon the wellbeing and rehabilitation of patients.

Paramedics

Our paramedics work in our urgent care treatment centres and are part of our urgent response teams. They provide assessment and treatment for patients with sub acute needs as close to home as possible.

Physiotherapists

Physiotherapy uses physical approaches to promote, maintain and restore physical, psychological and social well-being, working through partnership with individuals to optimise their functional ability and potential.

Podiatrists

Podiatrists provide essential assessment, evaluation and foot care for a wide range of patients with a variety of conditions both long term and acute. Many of these fall into high risk categories such as patients with diabetes, cerebral palsy, peripheral arterial disease and peripheral nerve damage where podiatric care is of vital importance.

Speech and Language Therapy

Speech and language therapists (SLTs) work with children and adults to help them overcome or adapt to a vast array of disorders of speech, language, communication and swallowing.

Social workers

Mental Health Social Workers take a strengths-based holistic approach to assessing and meeting social needs that arise as a result of mental illness.  They provide intervention to individuals, families and communities which empower and enable people to lead fulfilling, independent lives.
