Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care System

Logo

Welcome to the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care System (BOB ICS) Excellence Centre.

This virtual centre is made of members from the BOB ICS who have joined together as a network to improve the quality of and access to training for the support workforce across the system, both NHS and non-NHS.

This not only improves outcomes for patients and communities but also has the added benefit of reducing hospital admissions and other costly interventions for all services.

Skills Platform

The Skills Platform is one practical application of this. It is designed to share information with employers and care support workers about good quality training across the regions and encourage partners to open up their training to others in the system.

On the Platform you can find courses specifically tailored for the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Excellence Centre member organisations, which are most available free or at discounted prices to Excellence Centre members.

Please see the training on offer on the Skills Platform.

Only members of the Excellence Centre will be able to book training via the Skills Platform. Membership is currently free.

Our aims

The wider aims of the BOB STP Excellence Centre are to:

  • support and encourage practical education and training collaborations, building a more flexible and motivated workforce
  • collaborate on developing and sharing learning resources, reducing costs and avoiding expensive ‘reinvention of wheels’ for all employers across the system
  • recognise and promote high quality skills development that meets the needs of the wider health and social care sector
  • partner with the best local training providers to ensure their programmes are relevant and viable
make it easy for employers and individuals to find and access quality learning programmes and resources
  • develop accessible career pathways and potentially promote the highest quality of apprenticeship opportunities and training
Working together

The Excellence Centre is jointly hosted by Oxford Health Learning and Development and Oxford University Hospitals Practice Development and Education team. They were both separately awarded the Skills for Health Quality Mark, a nationally recognised quality benchmark.

The hosts will provide the infrastructure for the Excellence Centre but the activities will be run jointly with partners and delivered across the partnership.
