“make the children’s waiting area more friendly”
“make the rooms more colourful and welcoming”
We have now completely re-designed the waiting area at Harlow House to make the space warm, welcoming and homely. Young people from the Article 12 Youth Forum have been involved in start to finish and have guided us on colours, furniture and even produced their own art work to display. You can find more pictures of the new waiting area here.
“make sessions available from home as it’s difficult for young people to travel far”
At CAMHS we have Buddies who are able to meet you where you would like to be seen, this might be a coffee shop, at home or even at school. If you are finding it difficult to get to your appointments just let us know, we really welcome your feedback.
“the CAMHS website is confusing”
We have been working over the last year to develop our website and in April 2016 we launched our new Buckinghamshire CAMHS website. Young people worked with us on the design and the content and tested it out for us to make sure it was easy to use. The website now features information about different mental health conditions, self help advice, videos, apps and lots more. You can also find links to parent/carer and professional pages in the black bar at the top of the website.
“lack of contact whilst waiting”
We are developing parent forums to hear from you about your views on communication from CAMHS. We would like to get your feedback about what we can do to offer you information or support whilst waiting to be seen at CAMHS. if you would like to be involved, please contact Carla Paice by emailing Carla.firstname.lastname@example.org.
