Supportive Steps

Who we are

Supportive Steps is a dedicated team that collaborates closely with CAMHS Getting Help, AnDY, and Getting More Help services.

Our team comprises of an Engagement Coordinator and two Parent Peer Support Workers. All are focused on providing early support to families and young people on the CAMHS waiting list.

We aim to deliver a comprehensive range of resources that help families access the right advice and support for their mental health needs at the right time.

What we offer

Clinically lead parental guidance workshops
Supportive Steps offers early intervention through short-term clinical workshops for parents / career, addressing target mental health needs for their young people.
These workshops are designed to meet mental health needs early, providing essential support without the necessity of a formal assessment.
Induction workshops

In addition, we offer introductory workshops at the beginning of the CAMHS journey to help families understand the full scope of services and treatments available for young people with moderate to severe mental health conditions.

Our offerings are tailored to individual needs, providing guidance and encouragement on what to do while awaiting further assessment or intervention.

Our workshops are available online during lunchtime and evening sessions, with in-person events to accommodate those without access to technology.

Online platform

Throughout your journey with CAMHS Getting Help, AnDY, or Getting More Help, our Parent Peer Support Workers will continue to support you through our online Peer-to-Peer platform, SHaRON. This will be available if your young person is connected to one of these teams.

Walking with You forum

Additionally, we host the Walking with You forum, which is open to all. For more information, please visit our web page:
