Melksham CAMHS
We are a specialist service that helps children and young people who are struggling with a range of different mental health issues.
You may have heard about our Service or been referred to us by a professional who is worried about your emotional wellbeing.
For example, your GP, social worker or school staff. Don’t panic if this is the case.
Our staff team are trained and highly skilled. We aim to support you and give you coping strategies to deal with and manage everyday life: find out more about what therapies and services we offer, and the difficulties we can help with.
Primary CAMHS
Primary CAMHS or PCAMHS provides flexible, short term support to children and young people to suit your needs.
PCAMHS tends to work with the type of difficulties that can be sorted out more easily and quickly e.g. seeing someone for six sessions to think about difficult emotions and how to deal with them.
We can meet with you at CAMHS, at home, at school or in the community. Sometimes we might identify other services that can help you.
Both Community CAMHS and PCAMHS help with the sort of mental health issues that you aren’t able to sort out on your own or with the help of adults working with you (e.g. your G.P. or school nurse).
