About the Oxfordshire Community Diabetes Team
There are more than 28,000 people in the county who live with the condition – and each year around 2,200 more get newly diagnosed.
We support primary care clinicians (such as GPs and practice nurses) to care for people with newly diagnosed and longer standing type 2 diabetes
Our service covers the whole of Oxfordshire and is staffed by our six diabetes specialist nurses, who can prescribe medications, and three administrative staff.
We are particularly keen to help improve diabetes control and quality of life by encouraging self-management. Diabetes can be controlled and you can lead a full and active life.
We provide 12 free educational courses across the county every month. Find out more about them and book a course near you today.
