Understanding Psychosis

What does the term psychosis actually mean?

This session will examine the symptoms of various psychotic illnesses including schizophrenia and bi-polar affective disorder, and seek to offer some practical strategies for caring for such individuals as well as examine treatment interventions currently available.

There will also be an opportunity to discuss and consider the role that illicit drugs and alcohol may play in the development or exacerbation of psychotic symptoms.

Trainer: Robert Corteen

This workshop is available only for Buckinghamshire-based carers of service users who are currently under Bucks Mental Health Teams.
