How we can support you
Depression, anxiety and stress are common and can start for many reasons e.g. difficult life situations, physical illness, or problems at work or in relationships. They can lead to you experiencing lots of different emotions and physical symptoms. The way you act and think about things can change, and this can make the problems worse.
Many people who experience anxiety depression or stress have found that, with help from us, there is a lot they can do to feel better.
Healthy Minds offers both talking therapies and practical support to tackle the different factors affecting how you feel.
The talking therapies we offer aim to help you to:
- Understand why you feel as you do
- Look at the links between your feelings, thoughts, symptoms and behaviours
- Find out what you would like to change
- Discover new ways of coping now and in the future
The different types of talking therapies we offer are listed below. All of these approaches have been shown to be effective in helping people to manage depression, anxiety and stress.
Guided self help
We can provide you with self-help materials that follow Cognitive Behaviour Therapy principles. Regular support calls or appointments are offered to guide you through the materials and keep you on track. Guided self help aims to equip you with the skills you need to overcome your difficulties and improve your emotional wellbeing.
Guided self help can be offered in conjunction with our book prescription scheme.
Computerised Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (cCBT)
We can give you access to computer programs that can help with depression and anxiety. These can be used with any computer that has internet access.
We can offer support and advice on issues such as housing, leisure, finance, social life and employment. These can be provided in two main ways:
Support, Time and Recovery (STR)
We have a team of Support, Time and Recovery Workers who can provide assistance and support in social, leisure and practical aspects of your daily life.
