Kidney Disease

RCGP have put together an AKI toolkit which works alongside national ThinkKidneys guidance, to help implement quality improvement and respond to the sickness. The toolkit aims to support improvements in both the recognition and response to AKI for adults in primary care as well as improve the delivery of post-AKI care.

Chronic Kidney Disease is an educational resource for primary care from the British Renal Society covering  epidemiology, causes, management, self care and when to refer patients with CKD.

Download four free chapters from Understanding Kidney Diseases  by  Hugh Rayner including: Kidney Anatomy and Physiology, Measuring Kidney Function, Plot All the Dots and Making a Plan for When and How to Prepare for End-Stage Kidney Disease. Supported by the International Society of Nephrology.

Liver Disease

The RCGP Liver Disease Toolkit is managed by the British Liver Trust and RCGP to raise awareness of liver disease as an increasingly important cause of morbidity and mortality in the UK and to provide resources to support its optimal management in primary care.  It includes training resources for all staff groups in general practice, links to guidance, organisations and patient resources, and resources for commissioners.
