BMJ Practice pointer – video consultations
At the start of the pandemic many clinicians turned to video consultations. A BMJ practice pointer summarises the evidence on the use of video consultations and offers practical recommendations for video consulting in primary care and outpatient settings. It describes the evidence for video consultations, practical issues, how to conduct a video consultation (including physical examinations) and when to change to a telephone, face-to-face consultation, or home visit.
