BOB Excellence Centre for the support workforce

The Bucks, Oxfordshire and West Berkshire Excellence Centre is a partnership of organisations across health and social, including private and voluntary employers and training providers, who are committed to improving access to high quality vocational education and training to the support workforce. The idea is to make better use of resources, share learning programmes across the partnership and take action jointly to tackle local priorities. It will bring together existing training provider networks and employers to establish the training needs of support workers. This virtual centre is part of a network supported by the National Skills Academy for Health.

Priorities have yet to be decided, but could include

  • Improving the quality and portability of the Care Certificate
  • Developing a system-wide career pathway
  • Promoting a variety of affordable training opportunities delivered by a range of providers to meet training needs
  • Developing a learning culture via leadership development

To be part of this exciting development interested parties are invited to attend the inaugural meeting which will be held on 28th February 2019, 10-1pm, Unipart Conference Centre, Garsington Rd, Cowley, Oxford, OX4 2PG.
