General practice post-COVID

GPs will be at the forefront of helping patients cope with the lingering and difficult legacy left by COVID-19.

An RCGP report General practice in the post Covid world presents the challenges and opportunities for general practice. It focuses on three key features of the Covid-19 response which have the most potential for transforming general practice so that it is equipped to meet the health challenges of the 21st century:

  • New ways of working enabled by digital technology
  • Reducing workload by eliminating unnecessary contractual and regulatory compliance activities
  • Developing the public/community health function of general practice
