Managing Frequent Attenders

Patients who frequently attend health and care services can present a complex challenge for staff, who may be unsure how to best provide care. With often conflicting needs, it is important to understand how these patients feel and the experiences that lead to their actions.

A short e-learning programme, Managing Frequent Attenders, outlines how reflective practice can be useful when considering patients who frequently attend services or who may present with chaotic attachments and health seeking behaviours.

Aimed at all primary care and frontline staff, the session has been created by the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust with the support of Health Education England, the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Royal College of General Practitioners.
