Social Work Alerts

At Oxford Health library service, we try to tailor our services to meet your needs and take the library to you at your desk.

In addition to a range of healthcare databases, literature searching, providing you with specialised books and journals (see below) and helping you out if you need to look for evidence yourself and just don’t know how, we try to send you what you need even before you know you need it:

Databases:
Social Care Online: Covers all aspects of social care and social work. Types of resources covered: legislation, government documents, practice and guidance, systematic reviews, research briefings, UK grey (informally-published) literature, books and journal article from 1980 to present:
PsycINFO: Sign in with an NHS OpenAthens account . Provides access to international literature in psychology and related disciplines. Includes information on drug and behavioural therapy, treatment of disease, drug addiction, developmental psychology, and educational psychology, as well as the psychological aspects of such areas as linguistics, social processes, pharmacology, physiology, nursing, education, anthropology, business and law. Type of sources covered: Journal articles, books, book chapters, theses and dissertations Years covered: 1806-present.
