These services and resources aim to support staff and patients wellbeing.
Educational board games | A list of all our board games for staff and students. This promotes learning and team work. |
Books on prescription | An updated list of electronic and printed books from our catalogue for staff and students to borrow. |
Book clubs | Take part in our meetings for staff and students. Meetings every two months.
Women’s support group book club. Set up your own book club. |
Reading groups, audiobooks, reminiscence and beyond words collection | A service for patients. Staff can request it. We deliver this service in locations across the Trust. |
World Book Night for staff | A yearly event in April. For staff, students and patients. |
Benefits experienced by readers were higher self-esteem and greater self-acceptance. Readers are 10% more likely to report good self-esteem than non readers and those who read for just 30 minutes a week are 18% more likely to report higher self-esteem” (Billington, J. Reading between the lines, 2015).
