This award is to recognise a person or team that have made improvements to safety. This can include innovative use or development of equipment, processes or electronic systems. The winner will need to demonstrate evidence that safety has been improved as a direct result of the initiative.

Julie works in the Children’s Integrated Therapy Service and took the initiative to create a process that ensured all equipment is serviced annually, and re-assessed for suitability. By changing practice she has increased the safety of the service with regard to the equipment they issue.
Her nomination said:
“Julie has been integral at improving the safety of our service with regard to the equipment we issue on a daily basis. She is a font of all knowledge. Families and staff alike have every confidence in Julie with regard to the equipment we issue.”
Julie said she was truly shocked but delighted to have won, adding: “We work in such a large organisation and I’m really honoured to be recognised for the work I do.”
