Bethany leads the Health Visiting Team for the Community for the Wantage and Faringdon Locality. The Health Visiting Team provides a professional public health service based on best evidence of what works for individuals, families, groups, and communities. The Health Visitors are registered nurses/midwives who have additional training in community public health nursing, working to enhance health and reduce health inequalities through a proactive, universal service for all children 0-5 years and for vulnerable populations targeted according to need.
Bethany works hard to ensure families who are under the Health Visiting Team are given excellent care – recognising every family has different needs and tailoring care accordingly to meet them. She is motivated to initiate change to improve outcomes for families and leads her team by example. Bethany is passionate about improving the health outcomes and quality of care for the families, when necessary, she can identify and address health inequalities and if there is a gap in how the team delivers care it will be resolved.
Bethany is a natural leader – she is approachable, understands work pressures and will always offer support when needed. She is a role model and a mentor for her team, inspiring them to achieve their goals and potential. She always communicates effectively and respectfully with colleagues, patients, and their loved ones which is so important when caring for families, new parents, and young children.
Bethany is passionate about health visiting, knowing the team can make a difference to the community and improve the health of patients. The service provides essential care for those who need it most – helping families improve their quality of life, feel empowered and safe.
