“Truly amazing” staff nurse Annie Taylor has been recognised for her outstanding work after being presented with a Daisy Award.

Annie, who works at Cotswold House in Marlborough received the award from Chief Nurse Marie Crofts and Deputy Chief Nurse Britta Klinck in a surprise presentation.

Vicky Bradley, acting modern matron at Cotswold House Specialist Inpatient Eating Disorders Unit and Annie’s line manager said:

“Annie was a registered learning disabilities nurse for many years before coming to Cotswold House where we managed to convince her to take up a staff nurse post in 2016 having been a support worker for us.

“It was an absolute pleasure seeing Annie receive this very well-deserved award in front of the team. The patient who nominated Annie is well-known to our staff, and we all knew how much care and support Annie had given this person, and how much it was appreciated. Annie is a fantastic, kind and supportive nurse and we are very lucky to have her on the team. We are incredibly proud to work alongside a Daisy award winner!”

Annie’s nomination reads:

“There are no words to describe how grateful I am for Annie’s help and support.

“Every time she was on shift, no matter how busy it was, she would always fit in time to talk to me, to reassure me, manage to make me laugh, smile and give me a hug. She came with me to appointments over an hour away at a hospital in Oxford which were extremely mentally draining for me but her being there helped more than I can begin to explain.

“My family are extremely grateful for how well she looked after me. I know that Annie made them feel reassured at a time when everything felt completely hopeless and bleak. She went above and beyond to support me in every aspect possible. I will never forget the never-ending list of ways Annie made such a positive difference and impact to my care whilst being in hospital. She somehow managed to help bring out better parts of me that for so long I had lost. She truly is incredible.”
