Ellyn joins the race to raise Meadow Unit funds

Last week we told you about a fundraising campaign for the new Meadow Unit PICU.

First out of the starting blocks is Oxford Health Operational Capital Project Support Officer, Ellyn Carnall, who will be taking on the Sheffield Half Marathon in just over seven weeks, with her partner Jake.

She is currently spending her evenings training on the roads and footpaths around her home to get in shape for the course which winds through the streets and up some challenging hills in her old home city.

Help make it all worthwhile

We will be telling you more about the fund-raising plans of Oxford Health colleagues in the coming weeks. In the meantime you can sponsor Ellyn and Jake here.

All the money raised will go direct to a special pot set up by the Oxford Health Charity which will go towards enhancements including patient art projects, sensory equipment and gym gear.

Ellyn said: “I am really pleased to be helping to raise money to enhance what will already be a great new facility at the Meadow Unit. Of course I am also a bit nervous about all the work that I have let myself in for preparing to get to the start line.

“The good news is that when we get to the finish line the effort and pain will have been worth it.”
