Feeling low, stressed or anxious?

Approximately 1 in 4 people will struggle with mental health difficulties in their lifetime and 1 in 6 people might be struggling with anxiety and/or depression at any given moment.

“At this time of year the media often talk about ’Blue Monday’; the so named ‘most depressing day of the year’ associated with a post-Christmas dip in mood and unpaid credit card bills,” said Joanne Ryder, Clinical and Professional Lead for the Psychological Therapies Pathway in Oxfordshire.

“While this may well be true for some people, it is not the whole story.”

“Feeling low, stressed or anxious can happen at any time, and it happens to a large number of people.”

TalkingSpace Plus staff offer swift access to treatment that works to help if you are struggling with daily routines, feeling low, become upset easily or have stopped enjoying things. They can also help if you are feeling panicky or are having trouble sleeping.

If you also have a long term health condition such as Heart Disease, Diabetes, Chronic Pulmonary Obstructive Disease (COPD) and Chronic Fatigue syndrome (CFS), we have specialist staff who can help you with these feelings and who are trained to understand these health conditions too .

If you are struggling with issues such as these now or at any time of the year, TalkingSpace Plus is an NHS service to which you can self-refer via telephone (01865 901222), online (www.talkingspaceplus.org.uk), post (TalkingSpace Plus, Oxbridge Court, Osney Mead, Oxford, OX2 0ES) or via a GP referral.
