Five star Friday celebrating Banbury GP Out of Hours service
This Friday we are celebrating the Banbury GP Out of Hours Service for some fantastic independent five star reviews on the I Want Great Care Website.
The Banbury GP out of hours service is part of the wider primary care Out of Hours service covering Oxfordshire. The Banbury base provides support for the Banbury population when GP practices are closed and people have an urgent medical need. A reviewer said, “Seen quickly. Friendly. Felt reassured.”
The team not only support people by providing telephone consultations but also see patients within the base and visit people in their own home. Another reviewer said, “They called me to let me know that the prescription from the GP had been filled and was ready to collect. They gave us instructions on how to find out of hours . Excellent and speedy service. The GP was lovely and also really helpful. From calling 111 to having given my son his first dose of antibiotics was only 2 hours which was amazing on a Friday night at 9pm!” A service user also said “From calling 111 I was directed here for an emergency check-up. Very professional service!”
The Banbury team have recently moved from the outpatient department at the Horton Hospital into a new and updated unit within the Fiennes.
The team itself is very dedicated to supporting excellent patient care. A reviewer said “Friendly and reassuring care every time. Helpful and professional and knowledgeable staff. My son is always relaxed here.” The team is made up of receptionists, health care assistants nurse practitioners and GPs and is lead by a clinical lead and coordinator.
Other reviewers said, “Excellent and kind. Receptionist was very good.”
