Five Stars for the “amazing” West Locality District Nurses

Today we are focusing on the Oxford Health district nursing service following some fantastic five-star feedback on the independent I Want Great Care review site

Five Stars for the “amazing” West Locality District Nurses

The team covers the towns of Witney, Eynsham, Carterton, Burford and surrounding rural villages and communities.

One service user said: “The whole team of district nurses have been amazing. They are friendly and extremely professional. They are kind and treat my dad with respect. The ongoing support and care they are offering is a godsend and they are really supportive to my dad, but also to my mum. Many thanks to you all.”

The service works with adults aged 18 and above who have a requirement to have their needs met in their home environment, our patients with complex health care needs and people in palliative or end of life care. They are available seven days a week between the hours of 8.00 and 16:30.

Sarah Barber, the Clinical Development Lead, said: “During what has been a very challenging period for everyone, our qualified district nurses, community nurses, assistant practitioners and healthcare assistants, matron and administrative team have come to work every day and been resolute, professional, kind and compassionate in all they do to ensure the best possible care for their patients.”

Their hard work continues to be recognised by the patients. “Polite and professional”, said a patient. Another reviewer said that “The nurse was very kind and efficient and made me comfortable for which I am very grateful.”
