The Trust’s plans to become an NHS Foundation Trust have been slightly delayed by an additional requirement from the Department of Health to do some more work on our financial planning. Whilst disappointing, the Trust is confident that it can complete this work in July and that the progress to FT will not lose momentum. Chief Executive Julie Waldron said “It’s disappointing but I am confident we can resubmit the financial information very quickly. I am very happy that we have the support of over 4000 members who will be able to share their views and experience with us to improve local mental health services.” The Trust still anticipates achieving FT status early in 2008.
