How was your mental health care? 2024 Community Mental Health Survey

The NHS has launched a major survey on people’s experiences of using mental health services.

How was your mental health care? 2024 Community Mental Health Survey

If you used Oxford Health mental health services in April or May 2024, you could be invited to take part and give your feedback on the quality of support you received.

In last year’s survey Oxford Health received 297 responses from adults aged 16 and over, who used the survey to tell us what is working well and what requires improvement.

As a result the Trust taken some actions to address the gaps identified by what participants told us last year. These include:

  • Care plans: we are monitoring and improving care planning by using the Core Clinical Standards audit so that we are able to measure how we are doing on Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMS)
  • Contacts in crisis: 111/crisis contact details will be added to every care plan and every letter going forward as standard practice for all our teams.
  • Repeating of history: we are currently doing a Quality Improvement (QI) project working with our Experts by Experience to develop a service user ‘passport’ to help patients through their journey in the Trust.

In 2023, for the first time since its inception, the survey expanded the eligibility criteria to include 16-and-17-year-old service users who were invited to share their experiences of mental health care. This is really important to help us understand the quality-of-care young people receive as they use or move into Adult Services.

The survey can be completed as a paper questionnaire, or online by using the log in details provided or by scanning the QR code.

The survey is confidential, carried out by the Care Quality Commission and a dedicated Survey Coordination Centre at Picker, on behalf of NHS England. Responses are not shared with our staff, so participation will not affect your care or treatment. This survey has also received approval from the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.

The results will be published in the spring of 2025 and will be used to assess Community Mental Health Trusts in England. What we learn will enable us to identify key priorities, aiding our mission to provide the very best care for you and our community.

If you are invited to take part, whether contact with our services was regular or minimal, know every voice is valued.
