Could you use your own experiences of mental health problems to help transform the lives of others in Oxfordshire?

Oxford Health is embarking on the next round of our highly successful Peer Support Worker (PSW) programme in Oxfordshire, where people are supported through training to become paid healthcare professionals.

If you have ‘lived experience’ of mental health issues, your insights and experiences could help other patients and service users on their journeys of recovery.

From April 2020 we will be advertising 20 PSW vacancies across various Oxfordshire adult mental health services.

In order to apply for these Band 3 paid positions applicants must have successfully completed an 11-week PSW training programme which begins on January 29 next year.

Applications for the training programme are now open, the deadline to submit your application is 9am on Friday, November 8, 2019.

Interviews are scheduled to take place on November 21 and 22.

Before applying please read the Peer Support Trainee profile, this explains more about the programme. To apply please complete this application form and return via email to peersupport@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk

Before starting the PSW training programme we ask that all trainees complete two half-day courses with the Oxfordshire Recovery College: Introduction to Recovery and Understanding Mental Health (please follow the links to find out more and enrol).

If you have any questions about this opportunity please get in touch either by emailing peersupport@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk or by calling 01865 902817 and leaving a message with your name and contact information.
