Join us for the 10th annual Have a Go Festival!

2024 marks the tenth year of the inclusive and inspiring Have A Go Festival – a sports day offering adults with learning disabilities to try a range of sports, meet new people and get active. Find out more about the community event which has influenced hundreds of people this Learning Disability Week.

We’re looking forward to the tenth annual Have A Go Festival – marking a decade of providing people with a learning disability the chance to try out a range of activities and overcome some of the barriers they can experience when it comes to taking part in sports.

The free event is fun for all the family and will be taking place at Horspath Athletics Track in Horspath Road, Oxford, on Tuesday 23 July 2024 between 11am and 3pm.

Over the years hundreds of people have taken part in a host of activities. Among this years’ activities are cycling, athletics, football, cricket, tennis, dance, archery, multi-sports, Paralympic sport boccia and drums alive.

Michelle Fisher, Allied Health Professions Lead for Learning Disability at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, said: “The Have A Go Festival makes such a difference to people’s lives and opportunities, providing a supportive and inclusive opportunity for people to take part in sports, get to know others and enjoy a really lovely day together.

“We are now in our tenth year and I have to say it is such a pleasure to see. Each year people share their excitement and glee, they’re enjoying themselves, pushing themselves to achieve their individual goals and succeeding in a host of different ways as they do it.

“This event is about fun and celebrating the opportunities we have to enjoy good health. Everyone is welcome to come along to enjoy this fantastic event and join in with the sports. The sports day is completely free and there is free accessible parking.”
