Karen and Sara get running to mark NHS 75st

Two familiar faces will be leading the charge for Oxford Health for the NHS at the Witney Park Run for #NHS75 this Saturday.

Karen and Sara get running to mark NHS 75st

Karen Bisp, from the Health Visiting Team in Abingdon, and Sara Bolton – a former Oxford Health colleague who is now Regional Chief Allied Health Professional for NHSE –  will be lacing up their running shoes to celebrate the NHS’s 75th Birthday.

Sara explained: “It will be great to be out marking a very important birthday for the NHS with colleagues past and present and local people.

“We hope to see other NHS workers on the course and some may well be running in their NHS uniforms! There will also be celebrations for the person who finishes in 75th place and any runners aged 75.”

Anyone can get involved with people invited to walk, jog, run 5k or volunteer at their local parkrun to celebrate this major milestone in the NHS’s history and acknowledge all the staff and volunteers, past and present, who have made the NHS what it is.

Other runners are being encouraged to run in the NHS blue and white colours. However, regardless of how they dress, everyone there will surely enjoy the celebratory event.

Anyone who wants to join the race or simply cheer the runners on can find out more about the time and location here.
