Safer Sleep Week began on 13th March and is The Lullaby Trust’s national awareness campaign aimed anyone looking after a young baby.

LISTEN: BBC Radio Oxford speak to Trust health visitor about safe sleep

It aims to raise awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and the simple advice that reduces the risk.

The theme for this year is co-sleeping.  We know that many SIDS deaths occur in unplanned hazardous co-sleeping situations.  Open, non-judgmental conversations are crucial to reducing hazardous co-sleeping.

Our Health Visiting Service Children’s Preventative Care Services team leader for Abingdon and Wallingford, Karen Bisp, spoke to Tim Smith on BBC Radio Oxford. Listen to what she had to say below.
