New STP Executive Lead appointed

Fiona Wise (pictured) has been appointed to the role of Executive Lead of the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (BOB STP).

BOB STP is one of the four largest ‘non metropolitan’ STPs in England – each health and care system (Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West) is larger than some STPs elsewhere. The STP is currently the only partnership in the England to have two first-wave Accountable Care Systems (ACSs).

Fiona will join the STP on 5th March 2018.

Fiona is an experienced leader who has been operating at Board Level as a Chief Executive for over 20 years, working in acute, mental health, learning difficulties and community services.

Her previous posts have included Chief Executive roles at Enfield Community Care Trust; Stoke Mandeville NHS Trust; Ealing Hospital Trust and the North West London Hospital Trust. She was Improvement Director for Monitor at United Morecambe Bay Hospitals Foundation Trust and is currently Interim Chief Executive at Kettering General Hospital Foundation Trust.

Fiona will be leading the work of one of the largest non-metropolitan STPs – a partnership which covers a population of 1.8 million people, seven Clinical Commissioning Groups (soon to be merged to three CCGs), six NHS Trusts, 14 local authorities and 175 GP surgeries. The partnership has two first-wave Accountable Care Systems (ACS) – Buckinghamshire and Berkshire West.

Speaking about her appointment, Fiona said: “I am delighted to be joining BOB STP. There is already much to be proud of, currently being the only STP in the country with two first-wave ACSs and a partnership that is rated by NHS England as advanced.

“I am clear that we can only continue to make improvements if we all work together to make our absolute focus improving local health and care services for the communities we serve. I am looking forward to working with colleagues to continue to drive progress forward.”

Professor Gary Ford, Chair of the BOB STP Executive Board welcomed Fiona to the STP: “Fiona brings a wealth of experience and a highly accomplished track record in policy development, delivery and performance improvement. I know that my colleagues are looking forward to working with her to ensure robust delivery within each local health and care system, while maximising the opportunities to draw upon the research and innovation strengths in our region and make improvements when they can be achieved by working at scale across the STP.”
