We are pleased to announce that the Members’ Council at Oxford Health NHS FT has appointed Stuart Bell as Chief Executive, effective from 1 October 2012, following Julie Waldron’s retirement.

The recommendation to appoint Stuart was presented to the Members’ Council on 19 June and the Members’ Council unanimously approved the appointment.

Julie announced her retirement from the Trust earlier this year and is retiring after 12 successful years as Chief Executive.  Julie said “I couldn’t have hoped for a better Chief Executive to lead the organisation through the coming years. I know I’ll be leaving the Trust in extremely capable hands.”

Stuart is currently the Chief Executive Officer of South London and Maudsley NHS FT and has 30 years NHS experience. In 2008 he was awarded a CBE for services to the NHS and he is an Honorary Fellow of King’s College London.

Martin Howell, Chairman for Oxford Health NHS FT, said “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Julie for all her hard work, dedication and commitment during her 12 years as Chief Executive. I am pleased that we have been able to appoint Stuart, who is a high calibre leader with an excellent track record in delivering the best possible patient care.”

We are looking forward to welcoming Stuart as our new Chief Executive.
