Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (OBMH) has launched a group on the social networking site Facebook to encourage local people to get more involved in mental health services.

The group on Facebook will allow people to find out more OBMH services, discuss local issues relating to mental health and sign up to become a member of OBMH if they would like. The Trust wants to reach out to as many people as possible in the local community to raise awareness of mental health issues and challenge the stigma which still, unfortunately, surrounds mental health.

“We are always looking for new and innovative ways to reach out and engage local people. We hope our group on Facebook will provide another opportunity for service users, carers and members of the public to interact with the Trust.” said Julie Waldron, Chief Executive.

Facebook is a popular social networking site with adults and young people and is used to communicate and share information on a daily basis. By setting up a group on this site it will make it easier for people to find out more about the Trust. If you would like to join the OBMH group search for ‘Everyday People at OBMH’ on Facebook and click through to join the group
