A celebratory art exhibition by patients at Oxfordshire community hospitals is underway to mark 75 years of the NHS.
The art exhibition showcases artwork created by patients, their families and the people who care for them.
It includes artwork created with staff, reflecting on their own superpowers, and it is hoped the exhibition will raise awareness of art in healthcare settings as well as celebrate the work of NHS staff at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.
The exhibition is by Oxford Health Arts Partnership, an award-winning arts programme at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust which runs community hospitals, community services and mental health services across Oxfordshire.
It has been curated by Tom Cross, one of Oxford Health’s artists in residence and it includes artwork, poetry and sculpture co-produced with all our artists in residence.
A film showcasing the work of the Oxford Health Arts Partnership will also be among the exhibits.
Tom said: “This exhibition celebrates arts in health work from across Oxfordshire. As artists it’s great to see all our work together, a collective body of artwork where you really get a sense of the patient and staff voice through the work. It’s also wonderful to see that everyone’s work is so different.”
