Oxford Health supports the Big Latch On
Oxford Mail covers the Big Latch On events organised by our health visitors.
Venus across Oxford, Banbury, Chipping Norton and Carterton held special events on 5th August 2016 to get as many women as possible possible breastfeeding at the same time, for another record-breaking Big Latch On. This global event designed to promote breastfeeding saw 17,223 women across the world breastfeeding during a one-minute count.
Our health visitors organised Big Latch On meet-ups across Oxfordshire. Speaking to the Oxford Mail, Dianali Rodrigues, one of the mothers attending said:
“It was fun seeing all the health visitors trying to make babies latch on when they were more interested in the camera.”
“It’s important to do this in a public space. This is a natural, normal thing and its important to keep doing these kinds of activities.”
