The Oxford Institute of Applied Health Research (OxInAHR), is a vibrant, multi-disciplinary research institute which comprises a community of scholars who share a passion to identify, examine and implement best quality health care within their areas of expertise.

The Institute comprises of three research centres with various thematic areas of strength and focus as well as a central hub for leadership, research operations and research degrees programme.

OxINAHR common goal is to produce world-class health-related translational research that will impact upon health and social care delivery and clinical practice. The core aims include developing nursing, midwifery and allied health research capacity and capability, supporting clinical research training and education and fostering a diverse and inclusive environment for research to flourish.

The research internship programme is intended to increase research capacity to improve health and healthcare, by developing people with the potential and aspiration to become leading clinical academics and independent researchers in the future.

This internship programme, aimed at Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals, provides an introduction to health research. The programme includes the following:

  • 100 hours of salary backfill per intern
  • Personal support from an academic supervisor
  • Enrolment in an existing postgraduate research-related module
  • Directed reading and support
  • Integration into a dedicated, vibrant research active community
  • Access to online resources, virtual learning platforms and library facilities
