The nomination
Shar was nominated by Engagement Coordinator Nicole Wareing and Senior Mental Health Practitioner Carly Cooke.
The team collectively think Shar deserves this recognition more than anyone. Many members shared what Shar meant to them, we have included just four of these as part of the nomination.
“Shar has been and continues to be such a supportive manager for North Oxfordshire GH/GMH CAMHS. She goes above and beyond each and every day, always looking for new ways to help the team and make a challenging job that bit easier. Shar cares about the team as a whole and takes time to ensure we, as individuals, are supported. She is a highly approachable manager, and her actions reflect she cares about us, and wants to make a positive difference to her team and the families that we work with. Nothing is too much for Shar! We are lucky to have her.”
“Shar where do I start, you brought out my professional confidence and allowed me to have a voice of change in the CAMHS service. You believed in my ideas, passion and creativity. You are an incredible role model to all the practitioners in the service to put young people at the centre of their care. You have never forgotten what it is like to be a clinician on the ground. If I am ¼ of the manager, you are one day I will have done a good job.”
“Shar has gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome and to help me restore my confidence as a mental health nurse after feeling demoralized in my former role since I joined the team in May. Shar has always demonstrated a sincere commitment to helping and encouraging the GMH team, and she has been a true role model for leadership. She has not only motivated me to strive for greatness in my own profession as a mental health nurse by setting an excellent example and creating a positive work atmosphere, but she also raised my sense of accomplishment. I am appreciative of Shar’s guidance and advice because it has had a genuine positive influence on my career development and general job happiness.”
“Shar is the most approachable, flexible, person-centred, and understanding manager I have had. She is knowledgeable and forward thinking; knows all of the ins and outs of the wait lists and works so hard for children and young people to ensure they get the best level of service. She absolutely keeps GH/GMH held together, don’t know what we would do without her!”
“Everyone loves Shar like the glue that holds everything together’.”
