The clinic, which is one of the 10 run by Oxford Health’s Community Dental Service, provides specialist dentistry to children and adults who cannot be treated in general practice.
This can be for a variety of reasons including complex medical conditions, learning or physical disabilities, anxiety, phobia or mental health issues, as well as patients requiring special care, sedation, orthodontics and general anaesthesia. The team can also provide some treatments to patients at home or in a residential care home.
Didcot Dental Clinic has seven dentists, a dental therapist, a receptionist and four dental nurses who are supported by additional members of staff from the wider dental service as required. Together, they pride themselves on providing high quality care for patients tailored to specific needs.
Rosalind Mitchell, Clinical Director and Associate Medical Director said: “It’s really great to receive so much positive feedback from our patients and very proud of the team and service as they do indeed provide great care.
“Many of our patients are anxious and/or have behavioural needs and our staff are very well equipped and trained to providing a comfortable, accommodating and safe environment.”
One reviewer said: “The dentist and the nurse were so patient and friendly.”
Another said: “The nurse and dentist were very kind to my children. The receptionist was very helpful. Best clinic I have been too.”
A final reviewer said: “Both the dentist and the nurse worked extremely well together. They relaxed me and were very professional. It was actually a pleasant experience!”
