The Trust hosted a staff conference on 7 December which was attended by more than 130 staff. The conference was the second staff conference held this year and involved staff from a wide range of services and roles across the organisation.
Keynote speaker, Damian Hughes who is a Liquid Thinker, was full of energy and got staff thinking about their individual behaviours and attitudes. The need for staff to feel valued, safe, in control and to have a sense of belonging was recognised by all, these things all being key to how patients feel when they use services.
The day was thought provoking and inspiring with sessions on quality, finance, staff well-being and culture. There were also workshops covering staff engagement, mindfulness, innovation and values/behaviours.
The day ended with a Q&A session and delegates were able to quiz the Executive Directors and some of the Trust’s Non-Executive Directors. This session really captured the interactive and enthusiastic mood of the day.
