In recognition of World Mental Health Day this week a new impact case study has been published on Tackling Mental Illness.
The case study is focused on work carried out by Professors Susannah Murphy and Catherine Harmer, at the Psychopharmacology and Emotional Research Lab in the Department of Psychiatry. Through their Experimental Medicine Industry Partnership (EMIP) work they are helping companies use experimental medicine approaches to speed up development of new drugs to treat psychiatric disorders. The EMIP is based at the NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre.
Oxford University’s academic/industry partnership, at the NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre, is helping commercial companies identify new treatments. The Partnership uses experimental medicine approaches to help translate evidence from pre-clinical models into therapies which can be tested in full-scale human trials – speeding up the rate at which drugs may become available to patients.
