Pictured above at the presentation are Chief Nurse Marie Crofts, Ward Clerk on Linfoot Ward at Witney Community Hospital Timothy Farr, Ward Manager Christine Lucas and Chief Executive Grant Macdonald.
Tim has been part of the Linfoot Ward’s wonderful team, who are based at Witney Community Hospital, since February 2022. The ward houses a rehabilitation unit for people who no longer require the services of an acute hospital but require greater support than currently provided in their home environment.
Since joining the team, Tim has gone from strength to strength. He has a positive attitude, fantastic organisation and a very methodical approach. This means he can anticipate what is needed and completes a task he knows needs to be done before the team even ask.
Tim is involved in most aspects of what goes on at Linfoot Ward, whether it is liaising with South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS), transport, reporting, chasing up on faults, or front facing for relatives when visiting.
Throughout COVID and now living with COVID being front facing for relatives when visiting has been essential – he has an amazing rapport with both the patient and their loved ones, always receiving positive feedback about his helpful nature. Leading on iWantGreatCare and co-production as part of the Patient Experience & Involvement Team on the ward means it is essential Tim has these relationships and reputation with everyone who visits.
He is always there to help and has really taken the pressure off the ward.
He has become an integral part of the ward’s Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and produces accurate comprehensive MDT notes and regularly contributes important points that can be integral to a patients discharge planning while being mindful that he does not overstep his boundaries.
The nomination
Tim was nominated by Ward Manager Christine Lucas. His nomination is a true reflection of the Exceptional People Awards and speaks volumes of how much he means to his team. The Ward Consultant also recently described Tim as brilliant and was in awe of him and his abilities.
Christine said:
“As a Ward Manager I cannot sing his praises high enough. I can honestly say that in my 25 years at Witney I have never worked alongside a ward clerk so deserved of this award. He is so supportive a real can-do person and has been an extraordinary support for me in completing admin tasks which has allowed me to have more time to complete other things.
“You might say isn’t that what a ward clerk should do but, our Tim works way above his paygrade. Nothing is too much trouble.
“On behalf of the Linfooteers and our Medical Team we would like his worth be recognised & him be awarded the exceptional people award. He is a truly amazing part of our ward team and we cannot do without him.
“This will be my second attempt at gaining this award for him which demonstrates how truly deserved he is.”
