It is time to celebrate. The first week of June every year marks National Volunteers week. Since 1984, organisations across the UK join in by celebrating all things Volunteering.

We are grateful all year round for the contributions our Volunteers make at Oxford Health, but this week gives us an opportunity for us all to say thank you to them, to share stories from across the trust and to promote the Volunteer Programme and everything we are involved in.

Who are we?

The Oxford Health Volunteer programme sits in the Charity and Involvement Team within Corporate Affairs. Becky and Juliet together promote, develop, recruit and manage Volunteers in an ever-evolving variety of roles across the organisation. Volunteering within the NHS takes many different forms however the role of a Volunteer is to support and enhance services for patients, staff, carers and families and these amazing individuals give their time to do just that.

A Volunteers contribution makes a difference to us all

From 1st April 24 – 31st March 2025, 59 new Volunteers recruited to Oxford Health. We currently have an amazing 27 active roles supporting services across the organisation with even more new roles currently under development.

This week we will be highlighting a few of these roles, who our Volunteers are and what they are doing to support Oxford Health.

Please take some time out this week to read these stories, find out more and ask questions about Volunteering and most importantly take the opportunity and join us in saying thank you for everything our Volunteers do.
