Sandford ward is an Oxford Health run inpatient ward which assesses and treats men over the age of 65 who are experiencing severe mental health issues or living with dementia. The team there works together with doctors, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, pharmacists and social workers to promote dignity and choice in the planning and implementation of individual care and treatment.

One reviewer said: “The best staff I have ever been in touch with, they are all perfect. It’s clean every day, everything is done for you, you cannot improve it.”

The ward offers a weekly activity programme which varies week on week. Another reviewer said: “All the activities are very good” and these activities obviously help to boost mental health according to one user who said they were “In a much more positive state of mind than when I was admitted.”
