Wonderful five star reviews for Didcot Community Hospital

Didcot Ward provides rehabilitation and palliative care for those who no longer require the services of an acute hospital but aims to help them to return home with greater support. The hospital has a range of outpatient clinics in addition to inpatient beds.

The hospital has a dedicated team of nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists, supported by a number of other medical teams. Staff work closely with social services to source care placements and liaise with other care agencies.

Helen Reynolds, Ward Manager at Didcot Community Hospital, said: “Our team work hard to provide a friendly and caring service to our patients. We are extremely happy that we are being appreciated by our patients and their families. The fact they are taking the time to review our hard work on the I Want Great Care platform, keeps us motivated and driven!”

All patients and service users who receive care and support from Oxford Health are encouraged to provide reviews on the independent I Want Great Care website. The Trust welcomes reviews as they help our teams learn where the quality and standards of care can be improved. It also lets us know where our teams are providing good and compassionate care and allows us to publicly recognise their work.

One service user said: “My stay in the hospital has been the best! I’ve given the team five stars because everyone has just been so excellent! I feel the nurses have shown the most kindness when dealing with difficult situations, whilst always remaining cheerful. Everyone works to a high standard.”

Another reviewer complimented the team: “Everyone is really kind and friendly, I have been treated as an individual, not just another patient with another ailment. The staff are always up for a laugh and the therapy team has worked really hard to get me back on my feet. I’ve also enjoyed the food!”

It is clear that the team at Didcot Hospital have been keeping the patients busy as another patient said: “I’ve enjoyed the porridge for breakfast and the recent jubilee celebrations were so much fun! I have been treated with dignity and respect; the nurses are all wonderful. I wish I could have given a higher score – thank you.”
