This financial year has been a very positive one for YoungDementia UK.  We were delighted to receive a European award in recognition of the quality of our support for younger people with dementia.  Our members gave us very positive and encouraging feedback in an independent review of our services and we have established new relationships that will help people to access our support much earlier in their dementia journey.

We have recruited new staff members to meet the increasing demand for our services and to raise the money we need to enable our charity to grow.

The launch of the government’s Dementia Challenge means awareness and understanding of dementia is growing and the number of people thought to have young onset dementia in the UK is now more than double the previous estimate.  This means that, as the only dedicated support service for younger people in Oxfordshire, YoungDementia UK’s work is more important than ever before.

We hope you find the annual review interesting reading and we welcome your comments.
