Inpatient services are available for those who are no longer able to manage their mental health needs at home and need to stay in hospital for a while.
Some people might need a brief stay with lots of intensive treatment and support whilst some people who have more severe and enduring mental health conditions may have more frequent admissions.
During a patient’s stay in hospital, they are offered a variety of different approaches to help with their mental health including talking therapies, medical management, social skills training and assessment of needs and medication.
There is also support available to friends, family or carers of patients who would like some further support.
