About the speaker

Abdullah Shahjan has been a Senior Chaplain and Imam for over two decades. He is also in private practice as an Eastern Psychologist and Psychotherapist. He is Autistic and has ADHD with numerous disabilities, all of which aid him in his work and recreation.

Abdullah has led teams conducting international high-profile developments in the Middle East and South Africa, for the Alarkan group KSA. He has led international expeditions in Africa, Albania/Kosovo and Pakistan working with NGOs supporting victims of trauma and war.

Abdullah has been privileged to serve on numerous boards of charities (Butterfly Project, Artcore and Community Action), social enterprises (Wellbeing Works, Forum of Faiths, BWI) and NGOs (L.E.A.D , AG Foundation) and international seminaries. He has held senior positions nurturing, coaching and mentoring successful campaigns in mental health, social justice, and community cohesion.

He has presented on international media channels and is readily invited on national and local radio/media to share his expertise and experience. He continues to advise the Home Office and Parliamentary Advisory Groups in specialist areas and was amongst pioneers who brought the Wellbeing Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) to the UK.
