Basic Foot Hygiene

Ideally feet should be washed in warm soapy water every day and dried properly – especially between the toes.

Hosiery should be of natural fibre (cotton and wool) allowing the skin to “breathe”.

Surgical spirit applied between the toes once or twice a week with a cotton wool bud is an excellent way to dry this moist area of skin.

Excessive use of talcum powder should be avoided (definitely between the toes) as this clogs up and forms small lumps.

Feet should be moisturised regularly with a simple moisturising cream avoiding in-between the toes.
