Aspect

This study is evaluating the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug for agitation associated with Alzheimer’s dementia.

Potential participants must:

  • be between the ages of 50 and 90
  • have a diagnosis of probable Alzheimer’s dementia
  • have moderate-to-severe agitation that interferes with daily life
  • have a reliable caregiver who spends a minimum of 2 hours per day, 4 days per week with them who is willing and able to comply with all study procedures.

Eligible participants enrolled into the study will be randomly assigned (by chance, like drawing straws) into groups receiving either the investigational drug or placebo.

The participant, their caregiver and the research staff will not know if the participant is receiving the investigational drug or placebo.
